Happy St. Patrick's Day!

As someone who has Irish blood running through her, I have always enjoyed St. Patrick's Day. Wearing some green, although not to the extent of the look-alike Lucky Charms character that some of us girls saw while sitting outside during lunch - wish I had a picture to share. It is a random holiday to be a little festive.

While many people will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day by going to parades or drinking green beer, the tradition of the holiday started with a missionary called to minister to the people of Ireland. It is thought that he used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity. He died on March 17 and so, St. Patrick's Day.

I am not really sure why this saint has his own holiday and not others. But it is still fun to celebrate!!
